AIVR is an Indian aviation training company. We build DGCA exam preparation: the RTR (A) platform at aivr.in and the CPL and ATPL question bank at aivrcpl.in. Everything on both is sold to civil candidates — and given, in full, to the men and women of the Indian Armed Forces.

Army Aviation flying is tactical flying — low level, unprepared surfaces, real-time support to troops on the ground. The radiotelephony discipline it builds is superb, but the DGCA licence route runs on civil phraseology, civil airspace structure and the RTR (A) examination. That translation is exactly what AIVR was built to teach.

Yes. Every product AIVR sells — across both verticals, RTR on aivr.in and CPL on aivrcpl.in — is free for serving personnel of the Indian Army. That includes the paid ones: website premium, the recorded RTR Part 2 classes, the 1-on-1 mock tests and the AIVR CPL video courses. RTR (A) is the Radio Telephony Restricted (Aeronautical) licence, issued in India by the WPC Wing of the Ministry of Communications with the examination conducted by the DGCA. It is required for flying in Indian civil airspace, and no civil pilot licence is complete without it. Part 1 is a written theory paper; Part 2 is a live oral examination on radiotelephony, which is the part most candidates fail. Service aircrew moving to civil aviation still sit this examination — confirm the current requirements and any conversion provisions that apply to you in the latest DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements.
